Somtum here, Der, everywhere - Kameeluh

Somtum here, Der, everywhere

Hello! I am hailing this short hiatus from writing on the blog over now (hopefully). I have been swamped with a lot of work lately and all I want to do on my free time is to sleep more and and just do nothing and order take aways from fast foods. Hehe.

Funny how we just walked past this newly opened small restaurant from Thonglor called SOMTUM DER a week ago and apparently it’s a popular place in Silom and I have not heard of it. And today, Thomas texted me and said he wanted to try this small Thai restaurant and meet me after I finish from work. Then I realized it was that newly opened place which we walked past last time.

Since I’m hungry and wanted Thai comfort food, I was looking forward to it. We just walked from my office building so the appetite was worked up a lot before we got there. Hehe.

They serve Isan food and it was so lovely! I really liked the herby flavors they used for cooking. If you are a Somtum lover, they have a lot of options for you on the menu.

We ordered some of our favorites — Somtum with catfish (they have gloriously combined two of my favorite things in Thailand), Der style fried chicken, and the pork soup; which is a new taste for me was surprisingly good too. Yuhuuumeh! I have had this habit of eating rice vermicelli instead of rice lately so this is what I got. While Thomas tried the coconut rice which was like a dessert in itself because you will think you were eating the mango sticky rice. Hehe.

I really loved their food! Will definitely go back here for my Thai comfort food fix.
