For my birthday, I have only requested to have steak for dinner; and lo and behold..my request has been granted! We celebrated my birthday at Big Horn Steak House Stavanger. I was really looking forward to eat a juicy steak and pair it with a nice glass of red wine. Mm-mm-mmm!
Both of us ordered a Rib Eye steak in medium and boy, it was so nicely done! I really loved how juicy and flavorful the beef was. I just wish they will give you options on what sauce you want to have for your beef (although it’s good on its own). This one came with bernaise sauce which was okay for me (you can choose to have a different one for an extra fee). We had mashed potatoes, truffle fries and gratinated broccoli for side orders. I would say they didn’t live up for my expectations because the truffle fries didn’t have so much truffle taste in it and the mashed potatoes were a little dry. The broccoli was nice though!
They have a good set of wine list but I just asked what they can recommend for me because I’m not really a wine connoisseur. LOL! I had a Malbec which was a really nice recommendation. After enjoying the mouth watering steak — It was so sweet of them to give me a dessert treat for my birthday!
I really enjoyed my birthday dinner! Especially with the great service we had and the super good beef that I was wishing for. We’re looking forward in dining again soon!

What an amazing array of food they have. Happy Birthday BTW. I love Big Horn and we go every chance we get. It’s in another town and a little bit of a drive but so worth the time.
