Gender Reveal

So here I am joining the band wagon of having a gender reveal party. Hehe. Since it’s July, and it’s my birth month, it was just fitting to have a little party. I told Thomas that maybe it will be nice to announce the gender of the baby to our family on my birthday. Having this in mind, we didn’t know that we will finally be able to buy a house during this time as well! It was such a nice blessing to have a new home in time for the new baby. Since we will definitely be needing the extra space.

We then thought of making it into a 3 in 1 party. Wuhoo! Late birthday celebration, gender reveal, and house warming all in one! Isn’t that great? Hehehe.

We already had an idea of the baby’s gender from my 12th week ultrasound. Midwife said it looks like we’re 90% having a boy. But we decided not to tell anyone yet about the gender because I said I don’t want to ignore the 10% chance of having a girl. So we waited on the next ultrasound appointment which could tell more accurately. Just imagine my surprise when I found all those pink confetti floating in the air when we did the reveal! I could still re-live it in my mind seeing it in slow motion. LOL!

We went on an ultrasound at 17weeks and we asked the midwife to just write the gender on a piece of paper so Thomas can have a look since he said he’ll be the one to buy the gender surprise stuff. It took him a lot of patience to keep this for two weeks to himself. Hahahaha! He was so good but frustrated as well because he got surprised on his own without being able to share it with anybody else. Both of us didn’t really think that the 10% chance would matter. So that was fun and exciting for both of us!

It was a total relief for Thomas to finally be finished keeping it a secret from me and share this wonderful wonderful news together. We’re having a baby girl! We are overjoyed. 🙂

I wouldn’t go into so much detail anymore for this post but we are just so glad to have our family and friends to join us in celebrating this wonderful occasion and sharing with us this little milestone of our growing family. Thomas and I truly felt so loved! 🙂
