Fjordline Cruise - Kameeluh

Fjordline Cruise

One of the perks of being in Europe is  you have ease of access to visit a lot of other countries around it. Since I did not make any plans at all when I came to Norway (read about it here), I didn’t know what to expect nor did I have any expectations. Hahaha! So, one day, Thomas asked me if I’m up for a cruise to Denmark because the Fjordline Cruise is running on discounted prices. Who am I to refuse? Hahaha.

We got the round trip cruise from Stavanger to Hirtshals. Duration of the cruise to Denmark is 12hrs so basically we will just eat and sleep from the boat. I have never experienced going on a cruise ship so it was really fun trying this out. Fjordline offers an array of restaurants inside the ship, tax free shop, entertainment lounge, and a pub too. I was just glad that the waves weren’t so bad when we were on the boat so I did not get sea sick. It felt like I was in a hotel the whole time. We got this cute little cabin which is complete with the basic amenities — a double bed, a small fridge, night desk, tv and a bathroom with shower and toilet. We also had the ocean view which was super amazing because we got to see so many stars during the night. Sweet! We left Stavanger at 8pm and time of arrival in Hirtshals is 6.30am so we get a full day to stroll around Denmark.

From Hirtshals we just took the train going to Aalborg. I didn’t know much about the place so we just practically walked around the city, eat some food, go to cozy cafe’s and do a bit of (window) shopping — because why not?! a lot of things are on sale! It was really nice to see this city during the holiday season where everyone is busy doing their Christmas shopping and with the Christmas Markets popping up — which makes it all the more festive.
